Mike is currently spending the winter in southern Arizona, seeking solitude and reflection after the two most difficult years of his life.
He recently marked the one-year anniversary of his mom’s passing, following a long and difficult fight with cancer. In the quiet of this season, he has begun writing Eyes on the Horizon.
Alongside writing, Mike is documenting the journey through photography, trail running, and long days on the bike — staying in shape for his third cross-country bicycle trip in three years.
Much of this time is shared with his aging, three-legged German Shepherd companion, Charley. Together, they move slowly, deliberately, and with intention.
Mike is also learning how to share his story publicly — not just as a personal reckoning, but as a way to offer light and encouragement to others.
